Schedule Tabloid - Spring 2008

Schedule Tabloid
Partial Term Course List
Honors Course List

Designator Required Courses

e.g., PSY 690 — Research in Psychology DESIGNATOR REQUIRED

Students requesting one of these courses must contact the departmental office to obtain a two-digit instructor designator code that must be entered with the course request.

Companion Courses

Some courses consist of two or more parts, e.g., a lecture and laboratory, which are listed separately for scheduling purposes. It is only necessary to select the parent course because enrollment in the companion course (sub-part) will be handled automatically. Companion courses may be identified by the fact that the parent course description as well as all sub-part course descriptions e.g., (Lecture), (Recitation), (Laboratory) etc., will appear in parentheses in their appropriate locations below the course title and credit line.

Honors Courses

Any course with an “H” suffix, e.g. PSY 120H, is reserved for students seeking honors credit. Also refer to the HONR subject field.  See your advisor for further information.

Instructor Selection

To the extent that they are able, departments have listed instructors for each of their courses. In some cases the assignments are not known far enough in advance to be included.

Drop-Only Revision Requests

A schedule revision request submitted only for the purpose of dropping a scheduled course normally will not cause any changes in the scheduled times of the remaining courses. However, if the schedule being revised contains a course division that has been cancelled or a time block, the scheduled times of the remaining courses may be changed in order to provide a new workable schedule.

Schedule Revision Requests Using Predeterminations

For full-time students, predetermination flags are intended to be used primarily in the unusual circumstances when two courses with overlapping times must be scheduled in order to meet a student’s curricular needs. Use for other reasons should be avoided. A second intended use of predetermining is to enable part-time and graduate students to obtain specific schedules when needed. Schedule revision requests with or without predetermination will not cause the times of already scheduled courses to be changed unless that is the only means to a workable schedule.

Class Location

Class locations will appear on each student’s receipted schedule.

Schedule of Classes Online

The Schedule of Classes is available on the Student Services Information Online (SSINFO) Web page.

Statewide Technology Classes

Please refer to the Schedule of Classes offered by the School of Technology at Lafayette. Students registered at West Lafayette who wish to enroll in any of these classes, which are taught at off-campus sites, should contact Michele Summers or Nena Fawbush or call (765) 496-6886.
